Widset (cont’d)
Note to myself (for later on) when downloading an application.
In the SMS: authentification included in the link, and a download url
get.xxx.com
After clicking on the link you go on a website where:
1) Handset is automatically detected, not difficult to achieve but very
nice for the user (I felt “secure”)
2) Give the choice to the user (if possible) when the application is
available in various version (java vs. symbian)

Widgets for your mobile
I am currently testing two widgets application for mobile. Plusmo and Widsets… must say there are a lot of interesting things going on in that field. RSS/Atom is extensively used which does not surprise me of course :-)
More on that later…
What is a widget ? a widget is a small specialised (desktop*) application that provides easy access to frequently used functions or provides some visual information
* should be mobile in our case..

QR code as tourism tool
Would not a QR Code be just the right tool on this sign to connect the physical world to the virtual one ? When walking in the streets of Neuchâtel on this sunny day I would have love when i met this sign to shoot the QR code associated that would have sent me online to some explanations of what I was looking at.
Of course nothing new here… Semapedia is just one first example of what I am talking here but it looks like a very easy first step to do. BTW… KAYWA Reader also reads matrix code… semacode (the code uses on semapedia) is not a problem then…
(the worst part of this post is that I have not found any explanations online about the sign on the picture… guess Tourism offices still have to enter in the 21st century)
Where is that ?
