Mowser

  • A transcoder (to let users visit non mobile-friendly website);
  • A directory of mobile-friendly websites;
  • and a “keyword” feature that let you access quickly some websites (kinda a “shortcut”)

Cool stuff he ?

Few more stuff cool stuff from this post:

  • Support for handheld CSS;
  • Advertise your AdMob code in the header and it will be imported in Mowser so that YOU get the money for your content

Two questions now…

  • where is the mobile version of Mowser ??? Wouldn’t a directory of mobile-friendly websites make sense…. on a mobile ? (I tried to access mowser.com on my Nokia 6630 but it crashes my phone – sign that there is no mobile version)
  • What about mobile link discovery ?

Edit: ok from Russell’s comment below there is a mobile version, I am just having problem with my phone (we will sort it out). Here it is: mowser.com, (qrcode), (datamatrix)

Mowser has a blog to catch up with new features and Russell’s thoughts.

Talking about digital identity

Google reads my emails, Google knows who visits my websites, Google knows how much I earn with my websites, Google knows what are my interests,…
It might sounds obvisous but Google becoming Evil is not something I can feel on the web (or not enough), would it be too late anyway ?

Twitter again

Few notes from this interview of Evan Williams from Jason Calacanis (remember that Evan is not much not less than the co-founder of Blogger sold to Google in 2003):

Twitter sort of really took off when they changed the relationship model from “reciprocal” to a “one-way” relationship. It made the whole thing just much more easy (and closest to the blog concept) and that’s when the term of follower was introduced (08:00).

Adding picture/video just add complexity, it will come but they want to make sure to make it right (=easy).

Lots of features are coming thanks to providing an (easy) API.

Twitter pays for the SMS sent… and the business model is not quite clear right now.
